DESCRIPTION

Patchouli oil comes from the patchouli plant. This oil is produced by steam distillation extraction method. This oil can be used as an insect repellent, raw material for perfumes, incense, and deodorants. BOTANY

Patchouli is believed to belong to the Lamiaceae family which is also known as the mint family which has the botanical name Pogostemon cablin. It grows like a bushy herb and has erect stems that reach a height of 75cm. This plant has small pale pink-white flowers.

In the US and Europe, it is believed to be the counter-cultural revolution during the 60s that brought the influence of the use of this oil to the world.
